Psychology Consultation Fees: The fee for a standard 50-55 minute individual therapy session is $200.
How to Pay: Payment is by cash, cheque, credit card or eftpos.
Medicare Rebates: Under Medicare you can receive a rebate for psychology treatment of $131.30 per session for a clinical psychologist for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
If you wish to claim a rebate through Medicare, you will need a referral letter and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP before you attend. To do this, you will need to make an appointment with your GP to discuss the issues you have been facing and they will be able to advise you of the next steps.
Health Fund Rebates: If you belong to a private health fund, you may be able to claim a rebate for psychology services. It is best to check with your health fund whether this service is covered and the rebate offered.
