Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need to see a psychologist? It's always a good idea to speak with your GP about the way you are feeling first. They will be able to recommend whether they think seeing a psychologist is right for you. Alternatively, you can always call and we would be happy to talk through your concerns in a confidential manner.
Confidentiality: Psychologists are bound by their professional code of ethics which ensures that all your information is kept confidential. There are some limits to this confidentiality, ie. if we are concerned for your safety, the safety of someone else, or if it is required for legal reasons.
Am I the only one feeling this way: As many as one in four people will experience mental health difficulties at any one time. It is very common, and it can really help to speak to someone who can support you and provide you with evidence based counselling services.
